The American Red Cross called on the morning of Saturday, August 4, asking Scouts to help make sifting-boxes for those families impacted by Oklahoma wildfires ravaging our state, and Scouts and volunteers answered the call!

University of Scouting took place on November 5, 2011 at Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City. Over 300 Scouters and Scouts showed up to get training!
JOTA station WB5BSA successfully made contact with Scouter and astronaut Mike Fossum up on the International Space Station this weekend. We did it with the barbed-wire beam pioneering project antenna and a 5 watt radio.
This year the National Eagle Scout Association will award 153 scholarships to Eagle Scouts through various Eagle Scout scholarship funds. These scholarships vary in size from $1,000 to $50,000.
Every Memorial Day the Sooner Detachment of the Marine Corp League reads the names of 14,000+ Oklahomans who were killed in action, beginning with the Spanish-American War through Operation Iraqi Freedom. They are requesting the assistance from Boy Scouts in the Last Frontier Council to read the names in order to accomplish this task.
