Why should you sell camp cards? How do you sell them? Click the window below - or go to http://youtu.be/LgCwcDwpYwg
“Camp Cards” are plastic discount cards to be sold in spring 2012 to help Scouts pay their own way to summer programs! The sample card pictured below is what will be printed as a credit-card sized document with 3 “break-offs” on the side.
Cub Scout Packs and Boy Scout Troops sign up to sell cards and check them out. The cards are sold to friends, relatives and the general public (just like popcorn sales) for $5 each. The consumer gets to use the card during 2012 to receive discounts with the businesses listed on the back of the card.
The three “break-off” tabs are deals that are good only one time per card. The consumer will break off the tab and give at the business’ checkout to redeem the deal. All the other deals are good until the expiration date listed in the text.
Scouts and their Packs/Troops get to keep $2.50 (50%) of their sales to apply toward Scouting programs and activities.
Cards will be available to be picked up by March 1, and the money will be due to the Council Service Center by or before July 2. Accounts settled after July 2 will only receive 40% of the $5 per card sold.
