"Help other people at all times"

Looking for a good Eagle Scout Project? The info below is about helping to construct sift boxes that could help people at a great time of need.

How would you like to help a family whose home has been affected by a fire? The American Red Cross and the Last Frontier Council Boy Scouts are teaming up to provide sifting boxes to those whose homes and belongings have been damaged due to fire.

The Red Cross responded to over 62,000 single-family fires last year. Sifting boxes may seem simple but they help residents look for valuables lost in a fire. The sifters help families separate ash from heirlooms.

For more information about the program contact James Tittle at (405) 228-9521 or james.tittle@redcross.org.

Time is running out to take advantage of the “Early Bird” discount and spaces are filling fast.  You don’t want your youth leadership to miss out on this great opportunity to train at Diamond H, June 4th – 9th.  NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training) is a six day-course. The concepts center on what a leader must be, what a leader must know, and what a leader must do. The key elements are taught with a focus on how to apply them in everyday situations. NYLT will give them the leadership skills and confidence to put them in practice not only in their units, but in other school, sport, church and civic activities they participate. An added bonus is by encouraging your youth to participate in NYLT you will also put your unit on track for a Scouting’s Journey to Excellence Gold Level.

Order of the Arrow

Spring Ordeal 2012

The foundation of the Order of the Arrow is service.  There is no better opportunity to perform this pillar of our organization than at Ordeal.

The Ordeal is service at its finest to our council camps.  We also perform the service of making those Scouts, who have been recognized by their units as honor campers, members of the Order of the Arrow.

This event requires the help of many of our members and we call on each of you to return our soon to be newest members the goodwill and mentoring you received when you joined.  This event is not void of fun and there will be plenty of opportunity for good food and fellowship.

The Spring Ordeal will be at Slippery Falls on Friday May 18th through Sunday May 20th.  More information and registration is available by clicking here.
