2012 Boy Scout Camp

Slippery Falls Scout Ranch

Slippery Falls Scout Ranch is our overnight resident camp featuring hroseback riding, a climbing tower, shooting sports, aquatics, and our Chickasaw Nation Indian Village.  Please click here for more information.  Space is still available in weeks 5 and 6!

Diamond H Scout Ranch

Diamond H is home to our outstanding 50 miler program.  Enjoy a week of canoeing, cycling, and hiking in the beautiful Cookson Hills, Lake Tenkiller, and the scenic Illinois River of eastern Oklahoma.

Popcorn 2012 - Save the Date

2013 National Jamboree

2013 Philmont Crew Application

The Last Frontier Council will once again send two contingents to Philmont in 2013; June 7th to June 20th 2013 and July 15th to July 28th, 2013.  Get your applications in soon.  Individuals and entire units are invited to apply.

Other Information

Online Tour and Activity Plan Goes Live May 10.

The new Tour and Activity Plan will officially replace the old Tour Plan begining May 10, 2012.  All of your previously approved online Tour Plans will cross over and be archived in the new system.  After May 10, you will need to submit the trip via the new Tour and Activity Plan.

An informative training video has been developed on how to use the new Tour and Activity Plan application.  It can be found here.  The Tour and Activity Plan FAQ page can also be viewed here.  Please contact either the Oklahoma City or Lawton service center with questions or concerns.

The council policy can be found here.  It has not changed!!  Please review the council policy as well as the information regarding the new Online Tour and Activity Plan.

2012 Cub Scout Camp

Camp George Thomas

Cub Scouting is fun outside!  Cub and Webelos resident camp at George Thomas offers crafts, fishing, swimming, BB shooting, archery and more.  Click here for more details.

District Day Camps

Day Camp is one of the most fun things a Cub Scout will do all year! This is a chance for boys to go to a program from Monday through Friday and play games, earn badges, and shoot BB guns and bows and arrows!

Cub Scouts are organized as dens, but a boy can go to any week of Day Camp. If you can't go the week with your Den or if they aren't going contact the Service Center at 405-840-1114 and we can find a time for your Cub Scout to experience this great program. Boys can even go to more than one week of Day Camp!

Below the different day camps are listed. Camps are listed in the date-order of when they are being held:

Western Plains District (western Oklahoma) - May 29 to June 1 at Dripping Springs Scout Camp from 1:00 PM to 6:10 PM daily.

Black Beaver District (Lawton area and surrounding counties) - June 4 to 8 at Elmer Thomas Park in Lawton. Click here to send an email to the day camp director.

Canadian Valley District (Pottawatomie, Seminole, and Hughes counties) - Three different 2-day camps! June 8-9 at Shawnee Lake, July 13-14 at Sportsman's Lake in Seminole, and July 27-28 at Wewoka Lake in Wewoka.

Chisholm Trail Distrect (Grady, Stephens and Jefferson counties) - June 4 to 8th at Halliburton Park in Duncan, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM daily.

Kickingbird District (Greer, Jackson and Harmon counties - June 4 to 8th at Altus City Park in Altus.  Click here to send an email to the day camp director.

Will Rogers District (Yukon, Bethany, and Canadian County) - June 4 to 8th at John Nichols Scout Ranch, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM daily.

Baden Powell District (northwest Oklahoma City area) - June 11 to 15th at John Nichols Scout Ranch from 2:00 PM to 8:30 PM daily.

Sooner District (Cleveland and McClain counties) - June 18 to 22nd at John Nichols Scout Ranch from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM daily.

Big Tepee District (eastern Oklahoma County) - June 25 to 29 at the Del City Pool in Del City from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM daily.

Eagle District (Edmond, north Oklahoma City, and Logan county) - July 30 to August 3.

Cub Scout Family Overnighters

Did you know that the last Frontier Council offers a Cub Scout Family Camp Weekend experience?  It's held at John Nichols Scout Ranch and it's open to all Cub Scouts(Tiger thru Webelos) and their families.  For more information click here.

Adult Training

Scoutmaster Specific Training

Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters attending lippery Falls Scout Ranch will have the opportunity durring weeks 1 - 5 to tak Scoutmaster Specific Training.  The course will be taught durring 3 afternoons at the camp.  You can sign up when you get there!

Trainer's Edge

The Trainer's Edge will be held at the Gaylord Scout Service Center on August 4th.  The purpose of the Trainer's Edge course is to provide and help develop the platform skills of a trainer.  For more information, click here.

BALOO Training

BALOO Training will be held on August 4th.  For a Cub Scout Pack to go camping, there MUST be at least one registered leader on the outing that is BALOO trained.  For more information, click here.

IOLS) and WeLOT

IOLS / WeLOT is "Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills" and "Webelos Leader Outdoor Training," and they will be held on August 17 - 19.  This is the outdoor portion of the Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster training and outdoor training for Webelos Leaders.  Click here to find out more.

Wood Badge

The primary purpose of the Wood Badge experience is to strengthen Scouting in our units, districts, and council by training adult leaders.  Click here for course information.
