All community service hours performed through Scouting should be recorded in the online database.  This not only qualifies units for the Journey to Excellence Award, but enables the council to accurately communicate the positive impact that Scouting has on our community.  Our goal is to exceed an average of 3 hours of service per member in 2011.  Currently we are at 2.8 hours per member.  Please enter your hours here.  You will need the unit number (four digits) and the unit ID code.  The unit ID code is the same number used for Internet Advancement.  If you need the number please contact the Last Frontier Council office at 405-840-1114.

Diamond H Top Shot Shooting Sports Weekend

All Boy Scouts and Venturers are invited to a weekend of shooting sports at Diamond H Scout Ranch.  Boy Scouts will be able to participate in a day of shooting shotguns, .22 rifles, archery, slingshots, pellet rifles, muzzle-loaders, throwing knives and tomahawks.  Additionally, Venturers will shoot .22 pistols, 9mm pistols, and high-power rifles.  This is a unique, camporee-style event perfect for retaining older youth in Scouting's outdoor program.  Cost is only $15 per person.  Click here to register online.  If you have questions or would like to volunteer to help, please contact Joe Goodwin or Dee Browning.

Camp staff applications requested for Slippery Falls

The Last Frontier Council is now accepting applications for Slippery Falls camp staff.  Both youth and adults are needed to serve on staff.  The applications are available online at http://www.slipperyfalls.com/Staff.html.  Applications should be returned to the council office prior to the interview day on February 4, 2012.

Harlem Globetrotters

The world-famous basketball team will play in Oklahoma City on January 22, 2012.  There is a special rate for Scouting youth available.  Click here for the flyer.  Tickets are purchased through the Harlem Globetrotters.

Merit Badge forms

The Last Frontier Council now endorses the use of merit badge "blue cards" that are in common use throughout the country. These cards are to be used by Scouts, merit badge counselors, and troops to document merit badge progress and achievement. They are available for purchase in the Scout Shop, item #34124.  Using blue cards will replace the former requirement to use the 3-part NCR forms for merit badge documentation.  This should simplify the process for Scouts and facilitate merit badge transfers between councils and camps.

Eagle Scout requirement changes

Following the complete revision of Guide to Advancement, the wording of several requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout has changed.  The most significant change involves a complete revision of the Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook.  Read about the complete workbook changes at this link.
