Friends of Scouting A portion of the cost of Scouting is provided by the United Way–and we’re grateful for their support. Although the United Way used to be the major source of funding for the Boy Scouts, that’s not the case any more. Today, only abut 18% will come from our United Way partners. Self-generated funding must make up the difference. This includes: -Activity Fees such as day camp or summer camp. -Other special fundraising events like the Sporting Clays Tournament and Eagle Banquet. -our annual Popcorn Sale helps both the units and the Council generate revenue. -And most importantly, Friends of Scouting—our annual giving campaign which generates 33%. Friends of Scouting provides a chance for individuals, organizations, and companies to help support Scouting in the community. It’s also a way for you to help support the “big picture” of Scouting. 2012 Brochures:Family Friends of Scouting Brochure |
